Remote Online Notarization
A signer must still appear before the notary at the time of the notarization, but the appearance is made using audio-visual technology over the internet instead of being physically present in the same room.
You must have a device that has a functional camera and microphone. In order for the notarization to be completed, we all have to be able to see each other and communicate clearly. Do not use a smartphone. The internet connection has to be fast enough to be effective.
Browsers: For Windows devices, I recommend Google Chrome (Firefox is okay). For Mac devices, the latest Safari 11 or above.
Each signer must be on their own device.
You must be a U.S. Citizen, but you do not have to be located in Florida.
You will need all of the following:
A valid U.S. Driver’s License
A valid Social Security Number
A valid U.S. Mobile Phone Number
A credit history
In addition, you will also need to pass an Identity verification process also known as KBA (Knowledge-Based Authentication). This is required by the State of Florida.
