I have been really blessed to have had several major careers that I have loved, in one life time. My first job came about because my grandparents were such a big part of my childhood. In addition, my mother got sick with cancer when I was ten years old. I am pretty sure that’s what got me into working in nursing homes. I just love elderly people; they are so smart and interesting and need someone to speak up for them in their later years. I remember seeing my grandparents in their nursing homes when I got older, after I had moved from Louisiana (to Florida). I didn’t feel any of my three grandparents (in two different homes) were being cared for like I thought they deserved. The only way I could do anything about it was to work in a nursing home and watch over other people’s grandparents (which I did in Pensacola). I went back to school and got a degree in Recreational Therapy – I worked 20 years helping seniors!
I became a notary because my husband Mike works on the road and was only home three days a month for years. I had gotten really bored, even though I did some private sitting with seniors cause my passion is seniors. One of my near-future goals is to become certified as a Notary Loan Signing Agent in Reverse Mortgages.
My husband Mike is also a notary; part-time because he still works as a Superintendent of a large construction company, still out on the road. In fact, he has worked construction in almost every state. Some of what Mike does is with after-hurricane work. Although he loves his job, he is also looking forward to retiring some day. Mike also loves photography and does the photo packages for the weddings I officiate. He’s also into golf, fishing, hunting, boating, and we both love traveling!
Our other interests are spending time with our kids and grandkids, and playing fetch with our dog Isabella, a multi-color poodle.
We both enjoy the Gulf of Mexico and meeting new people from all over the road, sharing information about the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches of the Florida Panhandle. Don’t forget to ask us about the drink called the Bushwhacker, which originated right here in Pensacola Beach!
I am also a Wedding Officiant, and specialize in Beach Weddings. For what’s included, basic pricing, and to view my photo gallery, please visit my Wedding Website.
